A recital of beautiful pastoral songs, a folk section, and plenty of light relief. Perfect for a Friday lunchtime.
George Robarts is the First Prize Winner of the 2025 Lotte Lenya Competition in the USA, awarded by the Kurt Weill Foundation for versatility across opera and musical theatre. With a gift for rapid-fire text and a “great penchant for comedy” (Opera Scene), he has performed Noël Coward in recital alongside Dame Felicity Lott, who describes his work as “laugh-out-loud funny”. George is currently appearing with English Touring Opera in Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Gondoliers, delivering a “side-splitting” turn (The Guardian) as the hapless drummer boy Luiz. This summer he joins the Buxton International Festival as Pritschitsch in The Merry Widow and Marchese in La traviata.
We are extremely grateful for George and Edward for stepping in with a weeks notice to perform at the Chipping Campden Music Festival.
