Claudio Monteverdi’s famous 1610 Vespers never fails to astonish. Written on the cusp of the Renaissance and Baroque, it dazzles with vocal and instrumental virtuosity, burns with fervent devotion, and invites us into its intimate, sensual solos, duets and trios.
This is an unmissable concert. Not only is it an unforgettable opportunity to hear this music of extraordinary scale and invention, but it will be Jeffrey Skidmore's final concert in Chipping Campden before retiring as Artistic Director of Ex Cathedra.
