Programme to be announced on the night

We are delighted to welcome back Sir András Schiff to open the 2027 Festival. An important part of his activity are piano recitals, where he is particularly drawn to cyclical programmes; accordingly, he has focused  especially on piano works by Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Schumann and Bartók. Since the pandemic, Sir András no longer announces the programmes for his recitals in advance: as he rehearses he chooses the works for the evening’s concert that he feels best suit the instrument and the venue's acoustic.
